On Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m., Sen. Mattie Daughtry, Rep. Dan Ankeles and Brunswick Town Council Chair Abby King will hold a press conference to address the Portland Press Herald’s report this morning that inspectors found deficiencies in the Brunswick Airport’s fire suppression system last year. The press conference will take place outside Brunswick Town Hall.
The inspections took place 14 months before the fire suppression system malfunctioned in August, discharging more than 51,000 gallons of toxic chemical foam. The legislators will provide remarks demanding immediate action and accountability from the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority.
