Starting Monday, September 22, the Frank J. Wood Bridge will be ONE WAY from Topsham into Brunswick.
Construction season is upon us, and there are traffic disruptions we want to let you know about. The Frank J. Wood Bridge will be closed to northbound traffic (Brunswick → Topsham) for approximately 89 days, starting Monday, September 22, 2025, at 6 am. Drivers going northbound will be detoured via Rt. 24/196 (Brunswick–Topsham Bypass). The southbound lane (Topsham → Brunswick) will remain open but reduced to 11 feet wide.
Up to six full bridge closures may occur between 9 pm– 6 am during this period. Exact dates/times will be announced via roadway message boards and our social media pages as soon as we hear about them. Any updates or changes will also be posted on message boards along Rt. 201.
All pedestrian traffic will be open throughout the construction.
