The Town Commons Trail behind Coffin Ice Pond will be closed for construction beginning Tuesday, October 7, at 6am through Wednesday, October 8, at 8pm, weather permitting.
The construction, anticipated to take two full work days, will address erosion and sedimentation within Mare Brook. To reduce the amount of sediment entering Mare Brook, the Town of Brunswick will use 319-EPA Grant Funds to remediate the portion of the access road that runs behind Maine Pines and across Coffin Ice Pond dam/bridge. This will help address one of the sources of sedimentation of Coffin Ice Pond, as recommended in the Mare Brook Watershed Management Plan.
The public is asked to refrain from entering this active construction zone while closed. If you have questions, please contact Ashley Charleson, Town Environmental Planner at acharleson@brunswickme.gov or 207-721-4025.
Thanks for your patience.
