Flexible Spending Accounts

The Town offers both Medical and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts. An employee may defer up to $7,500 on a pre-tax basis for Dependent Care. Eligible reimbursement activities include pre-school, day camps, daycare, after-school care, etc. An employee may defer up to $3,400 (or the annual maximum as regulated by the IRS) pre-tax basis for Medical expenses. Eligible expenses include various costs not covered by health or dental insurances (co-pays, eyeglasses, prescriptions, orthodontia and more).

These programs offer employees the opportunity to save on known or anticipated expenses for themselves, their spouse and dependents for which they are responsible under IRS laws. Employees may enroll as new employees, upon a qualifying status event, or during the annual open enrollment period. Please contact Human Resources for enrollment materials and assistance.
