Thursday, December 18th | Intents Available (Third Thursday in December)

Thursday, March 12^th | Notice of Intent Deadline (Second Thursday in March)

Notice of Intents must be filed in person with the Town Clerk’s Office with two satisfactory IDs showing the current residence address.

If the March 12th deadline is missed, an applicant may file until the third Thursday in March, March 19, 2026, by paying a late fee of $600, or $400 for a bushel license.

Wednesday, April 1^st | Licenses on Sale for Eligible Applicants (First Wednesday in April)

Licenses must be purchased in person unless a notarized statement allowing up to three others who are authorized to pick up the license on the applicant’s behalf was filed with the Town Clerk’s Office. Payment by another does not hold the license for the applicant, who must still comply with the deadlines to obtain their license.

License Fee:    Resident $550.00    Non-Resident $825.00    Bushel $225.00

Tuesday, April 21^st | Last Day to Purchase Licenses (10 Business Days After the 1^st Wednesday in April)

 If an applicant misses the deadline, they may purchase the license by Wednesday, April 29, 2026, with an additional late fee of $600.

Monday, May 11^th | Lottery Date (Second Monday in May)

If a lottery is necessary, it will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Town Hall, it will also be streamed live on TV3.

If your name is chosen, you will NOT be notified; it is your responsibility to call the Town Clerk’s Office for lottery results at (207) 725-6658.

Lottery licenses will be available on Monday, May 11th, and Tuesday, May 12th. If you are chosen in the lottery and you do not pick it up by the end of the day on Tuesday, May 12th, it will go to the next person(s) on the lottery list. They will be eligible, starting Wednesday, May 13th until the end of the day on Thursday, May 14th. This process continues at two-day intervals until all available licenses are sold.
